„City of Design“: that’s how UNESCO named the city of Graz, which has been making its mark with museums or galleries in this regard for years. The „Lendhotel“ lives up to this reputation. Here you will find out why.

The outer appearance alone is already a sight to behold. “LEND“: These four letters illuminate as capitals spread across the facade. Access is through a fully glazed ground floor.

Above, the cantilevered sleeping area spans five floors. Brick elements encase it, creating a successful contrast to the entrance. The hotel is equipped with 52 rooms, a restaurant, a gym, and seminar rooms.

Where can I find the Lendhotel?

Located in the Lend district, not far from the Lendplatz with its well-known farmers’ market, numerous snack and street food stands, as well as small studios, ateliers, and shops. It’s just a few steps from Mariahilfer Platz and the Schloßberg.

What does the Lendhotel offer?

At the epicentre of the creative scene

The hotel is located in the eponymous “Lend” district – the epicentre of the creative scene in Graz. The architects tried from the beginning to reflect the spirit of the district in the interior. They succeeded. The reception area itself resembles a museum. Artworks hang on the walls and statues pose in the room.

Throughout all floors, modern antiques can be found. This ranges from an oil painting in the lobby, to pop art in the hotel corridor, to a designer chair in the room.

Comfort despite bold art

The Lendhotel conveys modern comfort. Light parquet flooring, white paint, and furniture painted in shades of grey harmonise with hundreds of bold art objects. The Lendhotel offers three room categories: Standard, Medium, and Large.

These mainly differ in their size. Each room offers timeless furnishings. After a long day, a large cushioned bed provides comfort, lively furniture offers seating, and panoramic windows create an open spatial feeling. In line with the philosophy of this establishment, each room features an unobtrusive art object that gives the rooms individuality. For example, a designer pendant lamp.

Art and sport simultaneously: possible at the Lendhotel!

Viewing art usually requires stamina. Guests can find a compromise in the fitness room – here they improve both their fitness and artistic eye. Alongside dumbbells and a treadmill, paintings adorn the space.

Culinary delight for urban travellers

The Lendhotel does justice to the urbanity of this area in both architectural and gastronomic terms. The chefs create contemporary cuisine with fresh ingredients from the surrounding farmers’ markets.

Superbowls, juices, and smørrebrød are on the menu. The open-faced whole grain sandwich is the house speciality. In the morning, they are served sweet – for example with vanilla espuma, caramel, and berries. In the evening, they are adapted accordingly – for example with a pulled pork smørrebrød. Then the bar also opens. Enjoy a cold beer or cocktail on the rooftop terrace, which offers a magnificent view over the city.
